most times you take a heavy bag and put it on the ground, get in the mount and practice from there
hello,
striking on the ground is tricky. ideally, you want the opponent immobilized before "raining" on them. using the heavy bag on the ground, integrate the striking into your positioning drills.
striking on the ground is deceptively simple to defend, unless the striking is being approached correctly.
blows to the body are more effective and harder to defend. instead of striking and pounding away, just deliver one, maybe two blows in succession and move to your next position.
of course, if the opponent is useless (gassed out or "out of it"), then by all means drop a dozen elbows on thier deserving face!!!!
have fun!! moderation is the key.
thanks
